At Kia, we understand quality benefits are important for you and your family. That is why we offer a diverse range so that you can choose what’s most applicable for you. In this section, you will find benefits and perks that show you how much Kia appreciates all members of our team for the hard work they do each day.


  • Medical Insurance
    Kia pays 100% of the premiums for the employee and employee’s eligible dependents. We offer a choice of medical plans such as Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) and a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). HMO plan is only available to California employees.

  • Dental Insurance
    Kia pays 100% of the premiums for the employee and employee’s eligible dependents. We offer two dental plans a PPO and a HMO. The HMO availability is determined by your home zip code.

  • Vision Insurance
    Kia pays 100% of the premiums for the employee and employee’s eligible dependents. Our vision plan is a PPO plan and offers in-network and out-networks coverage for eye exams, lenses, frames and or contact lenses.

  • Life Insurance
    Kia provides Basic life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance coverage at 2x the employee’s annual base salary at no cost to the employee.

  • Voluntary Life Insurance- Team Member
    To supplement the company-paid Basic Life and AD&D insurance, you can purchase additional life insurance at a minimum of $10,000, in increments of $10,000 up to $500,000 maximum. Employees are responsible for cost of this benefit.

  • Voluntary Life Insurance- Spouse
    Voluntary Life Insurance for a spouse is available from a minimum of $10,000, in increments of $10,000 up to $300,000 maximum. Employees are responsible for cost of this benefit.

  • Voluntary Life Insurance- Child(ren)
    Voluntary Life Insurance for other eligible dependents is available for $2,000, $5,000 or $10,000. Employees are responsible for cost of this benefit.

  • Short-Term Disability
    Short-term disability (STD) coverage is designed to provide a portion of the employee’s income if they are disabled and can no longer work. Kia pays the full cost of this benefit by paying premiums to the insurance carrier. STD benefits begin the 8th day of injury or illness. If employed in California, STD benefits begin the 31st day of injury or illness. The STD benefit will pay up to 60% of the employee’s monthly pre-disability pay.

  • Long-Term Disability
    Long-term disability (LTD) coverage is designed to provide a portion of the employee’s income if they are disabled and can no longer work. Kia pays the full cost of this benefit by paying premiums to the insurance carrier.  LTD benefits begin the 91st day of disability and the employee may receive 60% of your monthly pre-disability pay.

  • Healthcare Flexible Spending Accounts
    A healthcare flexible spending account allows the employee to direct part of their semi-monthly pay on a pre-tax basis into a special account that may be used throughout the year to reimburse out-of-pocket healthcare expenses.

  • Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts
    A dependent care flexible spending account allows the employee to direct part of their semi-monthly pay on a pre-tax basis into a special account that may be used throughout the year to reimburse out-of-pocket dependent care expenses.

  • Voluntary Benefits
    These benefits are available to the employee at very affordable group rates:  
    • Personal Accident Indemnity Plan 
    • Specified Health Event
    • Cancer Indemnity
    • Personal Sickness Indemnity
  • Employee Assistance Program
    This program is available at no cost and is designed to help manage those unexpected life events.

Retirement Plan

  • 401 (k)
    The Kia Motors America, Inc. Retirement Savings Plan 401(k) is open to all team members on the 1st of the month following date of hire. Employees are eligible to receive safe harbor matching contributions on the first day of the month following 6 months of service, with a company match of 100% of up to 6% of the salary. Employee contributions and match are always a 100% vested.

Time-Off

  • Paid Holidays
    Kia celebrates 13 paid holidays throughout the year.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
    To help in balancing needs of both our personal and professional lives, Kia offers 14-24 days of PTO per year depending on job level and years of service.

Employee Perks

  • Car Leasing Program
    All Kia team members are eligible to lease up to 3 vehicles (based on having a good standing driving record) with all insurance, registration and maintenance included in the lease price

  • Vehicle Purchase Program
    Kia allows team members, plus their family and friends to purchase new Kia vehicles at near dealer cost. Kia members also have the option to purchase off-lease vehicles at reduces prices through Kia.
